Spirit Squad

Our Mission
To develop a quality cheer program for JSA and to give our Middle School girls an opportunity to learn about cheerleading. This team will be open to Middle School girls who will cheer for the JSA boys basketball teams. The girls will be expected to show loyalty, encouragement and spirit to St. Jude the Apostle School and their Jaguar teams. Each girl is expected to set a Christian example both in and out of school.

Do everything in the best of our ability for the honor and glory of God.

Junior Jaguars
Junior Jaguars is a cheerleading program for 4th and 5th grade girls under the Spirit Squad. The girls will clinic with the Spirit Squad cheerleaders, received a Jr. Jag T-Shirt, Poms and Hair Ribbon. Jr. Jags will cheer at some basketball games with the Spirit Squad.

Clinic dates:Wednesdays from 2:00-3:30pm
     December 14
     January 11, 25
     February 8

Spirit Squad Registration and Cost
Registration is conducted on-line at from your Family Home page from September 12th – October 2nd. The cost is $85. Fee includes: instructional clinics, uniform, pom-poms & practice t-shirt. The first Basketball Game is Nov. 12th.
Uniforms
Uniforms (shell & skirt) are included with your registration fee but need to be returned at the end of the season. Girls will be keep their briefs, practice t-shirt, turtleneck bodysuit and hair ribbon.
Try-Outs
There will NOT be try-outs for Spirit Squad. We are encouraging all girls who are interested in cheerleading to participate. No experience is necessary.
Girl Basketball Players
If you want to play basketball you can still be on the Spirit Squad.
Scheduled Events:
  • JSA Spirit Days: Nov. 3rd, Feb. 23rd
  • Olgethorpe St. Jude Night: Nov. 22nd
  • Wearing Uniforms to school on game days
  • Pep Rally: Feb. 23rd
  • 8th Grade Charlotte Tournament: Feb. 24-26, 2006
