| Our Mission |
| To maintain a quality cheer program for St Jude students/parishioners and to give girls an opportunity to learn about cheerleading. This team will be open to girls in grades 4th-8th. Participants will cheer for the boys and girls home basketball games. The girls will be expected to show loyalty, encouragement and spirit to St. Jude the Apostle community and their Jaguar teams. Each girl is expected to set a Christian example both on and off the court.

| Spirit Squad |
Spirit Squad is a cheerleading program for 4th-8th grade girls. Depending upon the number of registrants, the squads will be combined or divided by grade. The girls will cheer at one or two boys/girls home basketball games, based upon grade level. For example, 4th grade squad will most likely cheer at 4th or 5th grade games.

| Spirit Squad Registration and Cost |
Registration is conducted on-line at from your Family Home page in the month of September, the same time as basketball registration.

| Uniforms |
Uniforms (shell & skirt) and poms are provided for all 6th, 7th and 8th grade squads, but will need to be returned at the end of the season. Girls will need to purchase through JSA white turtleneck bodysuits and gold bloomers. Prior year bodysuits and bloomers may be used. Uniforms for 4th & 5th grade squads will be determined based upon the number of registrants.

| Try-Outs |
There will NOT be try-outs for Spirit Squad. We are encouraging all girls who are interested in cheerleading to participate. No experience is necessary.

| Girl Basketball Players |
If you want to play basketball you can still be on the Spirit Squad. We will do our best to avoid scheduling conflicts so girls may participate in both sports.

| Schedule |
- Practice Thursdays. 4th/5th grade@ 3:30-4:30, Middle School 4:30-5:30
- Average one or two home basketball games on Saturdays, Nov-Jan.
- We will try to cheer for each basketball team at least once.
- Playoff games in February.
- JSA Spirit Day: Wear cheer uniforms to school for Pep Rally

| About our Coaches |
- Joslyn Heldrich is a 2nd grade teacher at Saint Jude and this is her third year coaching the Spirit Squad. A cheerleader starting in the third grade, she was a varsity basketball cheerleader at Holy Innocents School.
- Megan McMahon is coaching Spirit Squad for the second time. She was a cheerleader at Marist School and cheered for the Sandy Springs Saints as an elementary student. A former St Jude teacher, she teaches at Spalding Drive Charter School.
